Awards & Accreditations
Over the years, the ability of VCA's staff to work together as a team has been recognized by not just our patients, but our peers as well. Each year, The Washingtonian gauges those doctors more highly regarded by their peers. This is accomplished by using an outside research firm to send thousands of ballots to Northern Virginia physicians, asking which doctor they would choose if they needed medical care. In 2010, VCA was proud that four of our cardiologists were selected. Our cardiologists have also been recognized by Consumer's Research Council of America's "Top Cardiologists."
Over the years, our providers have also been elected to medical leadership positions. As active staff members at Inova Heart & Vascular Institute, Prince William Hospital and Fauquier Hospital, these positions include but are not limited to, Director of Catherization Lab at Prince William Hospital and Director of the Department of Cardiology. Additionally, Virginia Cardiovascular Associates' President and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Merdod Ghafouri, was recently elected Symposium Director at Inova Heart & Vascular Institute.
While accolades are always a nice affirmation of our work, our patients tell us that it's our physicians' commitment to continued education and clinical research that gives them the peace of mind that they are receiving the best of care at VCA.
