Insurance/Billing

Virginia Cardiovascular Associates accept most local health insurance plans and files the insurance claim for you. We work to make sure you receive the full benefits of your insurance coverage.
 
Call our billing office at 703-331-0300 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Please be aware that insurance plans often differ on some of the following requirements:

Referrals

Your insurance may require pre-authorization or a referral to see one of our physicians. You will need to obtain the required referral and bring it with you to your office visit. Patients without a referral will be required to pay for their visit at the time of service.

Without Insurance

We have different payment options and payment plans available if:

  • you do not have insurance, or
  • your appointment, test, or procedure is not covered by your insurance.

Our patient account representatives will work with you to help settle your financial responsibilities.

 

Deductibles

Many insurance plans require patients to pay a deductible. We ask that you pay the deductible required at the time of service. Payment plans on deductibles are also available upon request.

Co-pays

Many insurance plans require patients to pay a co-payment at the time of service. Please come to your appointment prepared to make your co-payment

  • Carefirst/BC/BS
  • Cigna – PPO and HMO
  • Coventry Health Care/Southern Health
  • Great West
  • Healthkeepers BC/BS
  • Medicare/ Palmetto GBA Virginia, Highmark DC Fairfax and Railroad
  • Mamsi/MDIPA/Optimum Choice
  • Multiplan /PHCS
  • Tricare Standard and Prime
  • Unitedhealth Care

* We work with ALL Medicare Advantage Insurance that are PFFS (Fee for service) but we have NO contracts with them.  You need to VERIFY that it is a PFFS. We do NOT participate and cannot take patients with Amerigroup, Healthkeepers Plus, or any MEDICARE Advantage HMO insurances. BeechStreet and Optima insurance is out of our network.
