Dr.  Alireza Maghsoudi grew up in Northern Virginia and attended the University of Virginia, earning a B.A. in biology. He then attended Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and finished his internal medicine residency at Georgetown University.  His cardiology fellowship was completed at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University, one of the busiest cardiac centers in the country. Additionally, he underwent a one year fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he worked closely with some of the most prominent leaders in the field of cardiac imaging.

Dr. Maghsoudi has earned the highest level of training in new imaging modalities, such as coronary CTA, cardiac MR, vascular CT/MR and cardiac PET. His special interests and expertise include transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, while his research interest in cardiac MRI has been presented at international meetings.  He is active in many cardiac imaging societies.

In his spare time, he enjoys biking, hiking, salsa, playing the trumpet, and listening to jazz.
