Dr. Chirag Sandesara was born in Chicago and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois before attended Ross University School of Medicine. Following this, he completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and spent an additional year there as Chief Resident. Dr. Sandesara completed his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine and served as Chief Fellow for a year at the University of Iowa, where he also continued training in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

During his education, Dr. Sandesara received the highest distinction for his contributions to clinical research as a cardiology fellow. As a trained electrophysiologist, his clinical interests include the management and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. He is very active in clinical research and was awarded a grant to lead a multicenter clinical trial researching the affect of a novel drug to reduce arrhythmias after cardiac surgery. He has presented his research at multiple medical conferences, including one in Japan.

Dr. Sandesara is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and the Heart Rhythm Society. He and his wife, Rinku, a pediatric endocrinologist at Children's National Medical Center, live in Northern Virginia and enjoy running, biking, and traveling together.
